今、世界的な大恐慌と言われていながら、どの国の女性たちも服を買っている。
それもかなり夢中で、楽しそうで、真剣で。
ただ、収入に応じて、買うアイテムや価格帯がやや変わっているかもしれないが、
過去の経験も、自分の趣味も、相変わらずだ。
パリの、ミラノの、ドイツの、デンマークの、スペインの、ロスの、NYの、東京の、安城の、いろんな女性と話してみて、生活する場を見てみて、なにか共通する思いを感じた。
服を買いながら、別のものを買っているのかもしれない。
自分の未来や、希望や、楽しみや、上昇志向や、満足や、ストレス解消や、純粋にただ、楽しい時間を。
ずっと、自分は、世の中のひとたちへ、何ができるのだろうって考えてきた。
服なんてもういらないぢゃんって思っていながら、
自分もいっときの服の買い物を楽しむことが多忙極まる中にあった。
もしかしたら、服を買うという時間や場を通して、
この単調で平凡で、それぞれがさまざまな問題をかかえていて、先行きの見えない、漠然とした不安な毎日を生きている女性たちに、
いっときの楽しい時間を、夢を、満足を、生きる希望を提供できるかもしれない。
そう思ったら、長年の捜し物がみつかったみたいで、すごくうれしくなった。
